For Viewers
Account and access
- How do I create an account?
- Go to /auth/register. Pick viewer or creator at signup. Creators have 30 days to submit their first series or the account stays provisional.
- I forgot my password.
- Use the reset link on the login page. We email a one-time link valid for 30 minutes.
- Can I switch from viewer to creator later?
- Yes — settings → account type. The 30-day activation clock starts from the moment you switch.
Watching
- Why are episodes vertical only?
- B/NG is built around the binge — the way people actually watch on phones. Every series is shot 9:16 portrait. There is no plan to add a horizontal player.
- How does Continue Watching work?
- Once you start an episode, position is saved every few seconds across web and app. The Continue Watching shelf surfaces in-progress series on the homepage.
- Can I download episodes?
- Not in this phase. Streaming only.
Ratings, tags, and categories
- What is a BNG?
- A 1–5 score you give an episode after watching. Episode scores aggregate to a series score. Top BNGs surfaces the highest-rated work platform-wide.
- How do community categories form?
- When enough viewers and creators independently apply the same tag, B/NG promotes it from emerging to active. No editorial decision required. Static genres always exist alongside.
- Can I retract a rating?
- Yes — return to the episode and re-rate. Latest rating wins. The series average recomputes within minutes.
B/NG Pass and Founding membership
- What does B/NG Pass remove?
- Pre-roll ads. There are no mid-roll ads on the free tier either, but Pass removes the pre-roll entirely.
- Are Founding spots really capped at 1,000?
- Hard cap. Each tier has its own counter. When sold out, the page converts to a waitlist for the standard monthly plan.
- Is Founding lifetime really lifetime?
- Yes — the perks survive future pricing changes. Founding Viewer = ad-free forever. Founding Creator = no monthly fee forever.
For Creators
Submission
- What does the $1.99 submission fee cover?
- Moderation (frame scan + text), music content ID, audience-rating validation, and end-card stitching on every episode.
- How long until my series goes live?
- Auto-approved submissions publish within minutes. Auto-flagged routes to human review with a 24-hour SLA.
- Can I edit a series after submission?
- Title, description, and thumbnails — yes. Genre, audience rating, and AI disclosure are locked once approved to keep the audience tags honest.
AI, music, and voice-over
- Are AI series allowed?
- Yes. Disclose at submission. AI Series carries an audience tag and lives alongside human-made work — no hiding, no downranking.
- What music can I use?
- Original, licensed (with receipt), royalty-free from a recognized library (Epidemic, Artlist, Musicbed, FreeMusicArchive, YouTube Audio Library), or public domain. Detail in the Content Policy.
- What if I cast a non-AI voice actor?
- B/NG auto-generates a VO Talent Release pre-populated from your submission. The talent eSigns via the ANVX protocol. Series cannot publish until the release is countersigned.
Monetization and payouts
- When do I actually get paid?
- Tips, fan subs, and series unlocks transfer T+2 business days. Ad share is monthly batch. Brand sponsorships transfer T+5 after the brand pays B/NG.
- What are the splits?
- See the public Rate Card. Summary: tips 90%, fan subs 85%, unlocks 85%, ad share 50% (standard) / 55% (union-verified).
- Why is there a $25 minimum payout?
- Stripe transfer fees and 1099 reporting overhead. Earnings accumulate until the threshold; nothing is lost.
- How do union-verified rates work?
- Connect your SAG-AFTRA / WGA / DGA / IATSE membership at /creator/credentials. Verified status unlocks the higher ad-share tier. We do not store union ID numbers — only verification status.
Strikes and appeals
- I got a strike — what now?
- View the strike at /account/strikes with the moderation reason and the offending field. Appeals SLA is 14 days.
- Can my account be permanently banned on the first violation?
- Only if it is your first-ever submission and it gets rejected for a hard policy violation. This is the activation gate (BNG-27). After the first approved submission, the standard 3-strike progression applies.
